Buying the stuff off the shelf is so easier but minus the love and memories which we create with our handmade crafts. One of it on our list from months was “own DIY Terrarium” and some time back we got some stuff for decorating it as well but have been postponing it because no time to buy plants for it. This time we got the entire DIY Terrarium kit (Yes, with plants too) to make one for our home. I personally like all the DIY activities where kids tend to get messy as it improves their motor skills and also gives us the chance to do an activity together and off the gadgets. Whenever I get a chance I will engage kids in gardening or pottery etc and this is an ideal activity kit for the entire family.
This DIY Kit includes:
- A Guide on How to Make a Terrarium
- A Guide on How to Care for your terrarium
- 2 glass jars
- 1 set of shovels
- 2 boxes of Premium Terrarium Mix
- pots of succulents
- pot of Fittonia Plants
- 3 bags of decorative pebbles
- 1 packet of activated charcoal
- 1 spray bottle
It is difficult to wait and click photos for such activities where kids are super excited and won’t give a chance to capture but since it was their first Terrarium, I felt like capturing it.
All the steps instructions are provided in the kit and also how to take care of your terrarium as well. We started with pebbles at the bottom.Followed by the active charcoal provided in the kit.We have got 2 boxes of premium terrarium mix which we have generously used for our both terrarium.
We started placing the succulents in our glass jar though it was fun but for kids, they need some help here as small plant leaves fell off while setting them. It was a bit difficult to place the plants inside the bulb shape glass jar but we did the job. Our terrarium all set up and we added our own decorative pieces we had in our craft box.
Some butterflies, house, dinosaurs and everything to make it beautiful went into it.We had some alphabets also so thought of sticking them with a toothpick and placed it inside our personalised terrarium. No fighting over terrarium now.
