My 1st overnight camp!

We have unlocked another milestone this year! It was last year during the P2 session we were introduced to the overnight camp in the school but we had to miss the camp as Aayan was not ready to stay in the school without us but we really wanted him to experience these stages. This year when we got the letter again from his school, initially he did resist for not attending but then he agreed to me that,“Mumma, I am going just because of you and don’t tell me to attend it again in P4”.

Isn’t it for me?

Yes,  it was for me as a mum, as a friend I want him to overcome his fears and to know his strengths.

Just before the camp night, he took the list to start packing everything on the list. He is actually very organised when taking care of his stuff. I didn’t have to check his bag to confirm that he would have missed out on anything. It is a pretty simple and a very handy list for a short trip as well.

listHe asked me, “What is an adventurous spirit?”

I said, “Someone who will enjoy the new things or ready to learn and also all those who are ready to attend the camp.”

He said,” Yes, yes! I have that in me!”

Packed his luggage and his sleeping bag before we were off to sleep!

Kaira too was excited and she went along to the school to drop her big brother.Aayanc10

Love you my little darling!aayan 2

I love writing letters, small notes and it feels so good to read them later and relive those beautiful moments. Wrote this little note for Aayan before dropping him to school and felt so happy that he took this along with him. He said, “I will read this before sleeping”LetterWell! 2 days were really really boring but so glad that Aayan got to learn many new things and Kaira keeps asking when Aayan will be back, I want to play with him. She was so concerned about his food, his bed that she even asked me, “Aayan will get milk in the school before bedtime?”

A little present from Kaira to her big brother and she missed him a lot. She asked me to write with her a note for him and wrap these chocolates for him. She took it all the way to his school so that she is the first one to give him a hug and tell him that how much she missed him.

What did they learn at the camp?

  • They got to work together as a team to pitch a tent.
  • Got a budget in mind to plan and cook as a team, they also got to visit the supermaket to buy healthy food.
  • Learnt basic orienteering skills
  • Decision-making skills through climbing activities.
