Homemade Garlic powder

Homemade Garlic powder
I love to use garlic in all my recipes firstly because of the flavour it adds to any food and secondly it has many health benefits. It boosts your immune system, reduces your blood pressure, cholesterol. My home remedy for cold -I even add it with mustard oil and heat it up and use as and when my kids have bad cold and it really works for them.

Reading this line again and again on the internet that ” eating garlic rich diet reduces weight and fat ” I need to see the results 🙂

In my home there is always enough stock of garlic but till now never thought of using it in some other form except for pressing, chopping or to the max making a garlic paste though in the supermarket I have always seen Garlic powder but never thought of buying it.

Preparing my own homemade garlic powder was rather a try than a decision, other day I had fried onion while reheating it in my microwave I realised that it has became very crispy, so just gave a thought why not, Garlic ???

I took 8-10 pods of garlic and sliced it, now you can bake it in oven preheat it on 200 c or in the microwave as well.

Here I did in the microwave but doing this way involves heating-cooling-reheating. You need to keep sliced garlic for 5 minutes in microwave then take it out and cool down.

Repeat this step for 6-7 times or depending on your microwave.Every time you microwave let it cool down and only then repeat the process. In the end sliced garlic should be hard and crispy.

Once it cool down just grind it into powder form and use it in your pasta, pizza or cooking your baby food.

You have your own homemade free from preservative garlic powder to use anytime !

    1. PToh.. You can set the oven to its lowest actually because mine 200c is lowest 🙂 if 150 you are setting it will take 35-40 minutes atleast.
I always feel that doing it in oven makes it brownish as heat is constant whereas if you do in microwave you are heating cooling and reheating it, so it get enough time to cool down.
