I always feel that art & craft is a great way to learn new things and boost your imagination. Since I love to do most of the craft using recycle stuff as it gives kids an opportunity to make use of what is available and be creative with their imagination accordingly.
Kaira’s school has a new theme every month where they get to learn about various new things and this time it was people/services which helps us. They already made one in the class with their teacher so she was aware of various options.
She asked us, “Can we make an ambulance with the things we have and we don’t have to buy anything for this project.”
This was dad and daughter DIY cardboard project with all the recycle stuff we had at home.
Things we have used
- Cardboard box (any old)
- Tape
- Glue
- Old Magazine cut out
- Paint
- Milk Bottle caps (4)
Cut out or fold your box into a van shape and stick the closed part using a tape.
We have painted it in white colour but you can also use a white sheet as later we realised that cardboard was absorbing the colour. We had to quickly let it dry under the fan so that it won’t lose the shape.
We have got the cutting for hospital sign, hospital name, doctor etc from an old magazine which came very handy for such crafts. Use a hot glue to stick milk bottle caps to make wheels for your ambulance.
As this ambulance was open from another side we have used another cardboard in red colour to close it.
Happy Crafting!
I am definitely going to try it My son loves transport themed activities and I am sure this must be fun if I do it with him…

This is super cute. If my daughter has seen this post, she will not wait for a minute to begin this ambulance diy
DIY do take sometime but are the best ways to teach your kids many things at a time. The art of making things, patience, creativity and finally everything about the thing that is being made. Will surely try it with my kiddo on a weekend.
How cool and seems quite a doable activity with kids. I am definitely trying this with my toddler and I have a feeling she will love this.
