Silks Place Tainan- A Luxurious Retreat in the Heart of Tainan

Silks Place Tainan is a luxurious 5-star hotel situated in the heart of Tainan, Taiwan’s oldest city. It combines modern comforts with traditional Taiwanese charm. The hotel embodies the spirit of the ancient Silk Road, where East met West.

The hotel offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and thoughtful amenities for both parents and children, making it an ideal destination for a family getaway.

Silks Place Location

It is conveniently located in the bustling Ximen area of Tainan, just a 10-15 minute drive from the Tainan Railway Station and around a 20-minute drive from Tainan Airport. This location is convenient for both domestic and international travelers.

We took the High-Speed Rail from Taipei to Tainan, which took just 1.5 hours and was incredibly convenient.

Silks Place Room & Suites

Silks Place Tainan features a total of 255 rooms, primarily consisting of deluxe rooms, junior suites, family suites, corner suites, executive suites, and specialty Silks suites.

I stayed in a Junior Family Suite that included a king-sized bed, a separate lounge area, a workspace, and my favorite feature—a tatami-inspired sitting area that provided a lovely Japanese ambiance. The room was fully equipped with modern amenities, including a virtual concierge named Aiello SPOT, a TV, and a minibar stocked with their special tea.

The bathroom was quite spacious, featuring a large bathtub designed for couples. There were separate areas for the shower and toilet, as well as a double vanity. I even found face mask sheets in the bathroom, so I put them in the mini fridge to enjoy while unwinding at the end of the day.

Dining at Silks Place Tainan

Dinner at Silks House

We had a wonderful experience dining at Silks House, where we enjoyed a delightful selection of Taiwanese and Cantonese cuisines. The all-day dining restaurant offers a combination of buffet and à la carte options, serving both local specialties and international dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. The Shaved Ice dessert was a highlight and tasted delicious.

Glass House

You definitely need to check out this place, especially if you’re visiting with friends. You can savor an artisanal cocktail, beer, or other enticing refreshments while experiencing the warm hospitality and social vibe of southern Taiwan. The Glass House is particularly known for its innovative cocktails and expertly crafted drinks.

They also feature a unique 108 shots pagoda tower and the 36 Strategems Shot Plate, which includes 36 shots inspired by a classic Chinese essay illustrating various strategies used in politics and warfare. These shots are made with a mix of Taiwanese and Western teas combined with vodka, rum, gin, whiskey, brandy, tequila, and other top-quality spirits, along with natural fruit puree.

Breakfast at Robin’s Grill

I had breakfast at Robin’s Grill because I prefer a more Western style in the morning. Breakfast is served in two locations: Robin’s Grill on Level 1 (Western style) and the Banquet Hall on Level 2 (Tainan style).

Coffee Tasting and Perfume Making

At the hotel bar, we tried hand-brewed coffee, and one of the highlights was a perfume workshop where we could create our own signature fragrance. We selected different notes for our perfume and experimented with combining scents to develop a fragrance that reflects our personal styles. This process involved choosing base, heart, and top notes, and we each left with a custom-made perfume to take home.

Reservations for this workshop must be made at the reception.
