A lot of inspiration actually comes from what we believe or what we have been through in our life and surviving cancer was one part of my life which has a huge impact on me.

1. Tell us about your background and journey. How and when did you realize your passion for digital media and content creation?

Hi, I am Pooja! Born and brought up in Delhi, India later moved to Singapore. It was after my son, Aayan was born and on one fine day, I thought of creating an online platform for moms to connect in a foreign land helping each other raising our little one and to make some friends.
Well, blogging was never my cup of tea and if someone would have asked me to do that years back my expression would be like “NO WAY”. I believe my cancer journey has taught me to appreciate and treasure so much that back in 2011 that I started to pen down my parenting experiences and baby recipes.

Mums & Babies (www.themumsandbabies.com) was the only name which came to my mind when I thought about blogging as this was something I was representing to share my journey as a mum with my babies.

I think I have ventured into Instagram quite late after my daughter, Kaira was born (www.instagram.com.PoojaKawatra) but there is no looking back once content creation becomes part of you.

2. How and where do you find inspiration to churn out Content.

I have always believed if you love what you are doing you are already inspired to do it every single day. I have been sharing my everyday journey with my kids, family, lifestyle and my cancer journey. A lot of inspiration actually comes from what we believe or what we have been through in our life and surviving cancer was one part of my life which has a huge impact on me.

You will find me sharing about it a lot on my social media and if I can inspire anyone that we all have tough times and we can come out of it if we stay positive. Another thing which I keep sharing is my motherhood journey which is very simple without anything fancy strings attached and that is how I connect with my readers.

We are not supermoms who know it all and raising kids all alone in a foreign land, managing everything without family support is quite challenging. Luckily I have a very supportive hubby to always encourage me and help me keep my motherhood journey real.

3. What are the basic software that one must be aware of in your field?

Once you are in this field you keep learning every day from one or another and some of the basic apps which are really helpful are Lightroom, Snapseed etc.

4. Share one of your favourite experiences as a digital content creator with us.

I was invited as a guest speaker and part of the campaign by the beauty brand, Max factor to empower women with enriching life journeys. It is something close to my heart to see myself sharing that journey!! Last year again when I was chosen as 100 inspiring women in Singapore by Lancome.

I will say there are many such instances and all of them make this journey worthwhile where you feel that people can connect to you and remember you.

When you get messages, emails, comments or at times when I am at an event and some of them will come and talk to me to tell that we read your blog Pooja and you are so inspiring.

5. What has been the biggest learning from your job?

Keep learning every single day as that is what helps you to keep going. One thing I always stick to is that there is no shortcut to hard work in your life.

You may find yourself standing alone without any support but then remember not everyone has that courage to stand alone and shine! So don’t compare your journey with anyone else if you can’t learn from anything from it.

6. Who is your favourite creator and why?

There is always something to learn and get inspiration from each one there as everyone is putting their best efforts! Learning every day on social media and hoping to have a community over competition.

7. Which is your favourite movie and why?

Nothing favourite in particular but I love watching good romantic, comedy, movies on some real social topic and inspiring stories.
