Kaira is more inclined towards activities which involve more of pretend play, building stories, dancing but when it comes to writing she is a bit selective unless something really exciting for her. I try to find out more activities or writing books for her to create an interest in writing and when I came across this Gakken Go Go Series with different age group.
I have got 3 workbooks from Gakken Go Go Series namely
- Go Go Life Skills
- Go Go Intellectual Skills
- Go Go Maze
All these books are for preschoolers age 3-5 and 4-6 years old.
We started with Go Go Maze as young kids totally love it and initially, she was very interested to start but lost her interest for a while. So we decided to take a break and we begin again after doing one, two, three pages she was super excited that she manages to finish the activity. Each maze is designed to be fun and engaging while, at the same time, building fundamental early childhood learning skills.
Basically, all the activities listed in Go Go Mazes helps to develop their reasoning and decision-making skills. Some of the benefits are –
● Skill-building activities
- Learning to patiently work through a problem
- Drawing different kinds of lines and shapes
- Developing early handwriting skills
- Recognizing and matching familiar and similar objects
- Solving more complex mazes
- Expanding his or her ability to concentrate
Kaira decided to take help from her big bro, Aayan and explaining him about the picture in this book. This particular topic is about reasoning where kids have to find out who is hiding. Good to see when siblings can help each other to study together and these colourful pictures are very interesting for kids.
Our kids learn and grow in everything they do and if given the right tools, can continue this natural learning process throughout their lives. Next book we received was Go Go Life Skills, with its creatively designed tools, actively engage children’s natural curiosity, imagination and creativity as they develop their self-awareness and a love for learning. At the same time, it will give them footing in early academic skills such as reasoning, basic writing and numbers, marking a great start on their way to lifelong learning.
● Skill-building activities
- Identifying & pointing at objects, and tracing lines with fingers
- Recognizing shapes, colors, and patterns
- Matching & naming different kinds of objects
- Solving puzzles
- Counting
- Creative art & drawing activities
Go Go Intellectual Skills is designed in a way to give young kids a fun introduction to reasoning. Enjoyable activities help kids understand the world around them. The activities provide effective practice in: concentrating on a task, making careful observations and comparing and contrasting similar things. This gives children an early start on learning how to classify the world around them, forming the basis for higher-level reasoning skills.
● Skill-building activities
- Inferring the whole based on a part
- Navigating mazes
- Recognizing different colors and shapes
- Using creativity to make crafts
- Recognizing like and unlike objects and classifying them
- Matching objects
All the kids love to get rewarded for so much hard work and these series have kept it in mind to include the reward stickers.
- Activity Stickers
- Reward Stickers
- Wipe-Clean Activity Board
