Sa Yum Thai Restaurant!

Sa Yum Thai restaurant

We found a family friendly place to dine in at Club Street –  Sa Yum Thai Restaurant! We hardly visit this side as it is not very kids friendly especially on a Friday evening. Amanda from Sa Yum was really helpful in arranging the reservation for us and when I told her that I will be bringing my kids along with us, she suggested me to take the last seat in the restaurant as the place is not kids friendly in the evening.Sa yumWe came straight inside the restaurant and couldn’t capture the place from outside. Everything on the menu looks fascinating and kids couldn’t decide on it.Sa yum3I can have coconut water any time of the day and always prefer it over the soft drinks. It was quite refreshing and big size to go along with your food.

Sa yum1-01GREEN MANGO SALAD

Green Mango salad don’t need any introduction, young green mangoes tossed dried chilli shrimp and palm sugar dressing. An explosion of sweet, salty and sour flavours. It was a perfect blend of sour and spiciness.

Sa yum4-01THAI GRILLED PORK ON SKEWERS

Bite-sized pieces of pork marinated with slightly peppery cilantro, garlic and peppercorn, every piece was tender and full of flavours and it was served with a Thai Nam Jim Jaew Dip which was superb ( I would love to have a recipe of this one). Salad served along with it was slightly pickled.

Sa yum5-01 (1)TOM YUM SOUP WITH PRAWN

My hubby loved the tom yum soup base so much and he did mention that it was authentic and unique flavour. Classic spicy and sour soup, made with a generous blend of Thai herbs. An option of either clear or milky soup base is available.

Sa yum6-01Apart from all these dishes, kids have a special menu of “fish & chips” and the portion was quite big for kids with a portion of salad as well.

pineapplePINEAPPLE FRIED RICE

Kids first expression was “WOW”, are we going to eat this whole pineapple as well? Sinfully delicious fresh pineapple fried rice with cashew nuts and chicken. Did you notice that floss on the top?

Sa yum8Sa•Yum COCONUT ICE CREAM

This taste incredible!! Reminiscent of the ones sold on the streets of “Jatujak Market”, mouthwatering coconut ice cream is served in its husk, topped with corn, peanuts and red rubies. Every bite you will eat have a frozen fresh coconut chunk which was yum.

Overall, it is difficult to name any one dish as my favourite because we loved every dish served on the table and must say the taste was totally authentic. Thank you, Sa Yum team for the hospitality!
