I am an Apple user for more than a decade now, be it was my first iPhone 5 or Ipad Generation 2 which I have used in those days without a keyboard or pencil and even 16GB storage. Earlier it was mainly for personal or work-related use but over the years with Aayan and Kaira the whole dynamics of using the Apple products has changed. As it is more of a family product for us.
We got our iPad Air early this year along with Magic Keyboard and Apple pencil so as to help Aayan and Kaira with their Home Based learning and other online classes for them to learn at ease. Also, attending the video sessions with their teachers.
Aayan loves playing and learning his Chess/Chinese session as it is super convenient for him while highlighting and making notes during the class.
He has been using it for designing as well while for Kaira she loves sketching and her Maths sessions. I am happy to see that both of them are using it for their learning as well as trying out different apps.
Ipad Mini
With work from home still on and most of the meetings/events are happening over the zoom or videos, I got my hands on iPad Mini which is recently launched and I convinced myself why I need to go for it.
- Compact and Sleek
iPad Mini is compact and the sleek design is definitely what I loved about it as I can literally carry it anywhere I want along with me. Just slide it inside my handbag as it is super light too.
- The Centre Stage Experience
Personally, the Centre Stage experience on iPad mini is a gamechanger as I can do the video calls in both Horizontal and vertical ways, the screen will adjust it accordingly fitting the user in the centre.
- The Back Camera
My work involves clicking the photos /videos every single day and I love to involve both Aayan & Kaira in it as they feel part of this whole journey. We always want our photos to be extensions of our everyday moments and sometimes they are super adorable like clicking my kids’ creation, cooking or nature photography.
iPad mini back camera comes amazingly with a 12MP sensor with Focus Pixels and a larger aperture to capture sharp, vivid photos.
- Planner/Sketchbook
iPad mini is quite handy but to make it more friendly, I use my Apple pencil along with it and it just turns into my planner or sketchbook for Kaira. If you are a planner kind of a person like me, I have started with this app- Zinnia
- Smart Folio
Smart Folio is a slim, lightweight cover and saving on the battery by open-to-wake and close-to-sleep functionality. Got it in electric orange to stand out and just kidding, I find it easier to locate. Though it is available in 5 colours.
**iPad mini is available with a starting price of S$749 and Wi-Fi + Cellular models start at S$979 in 64GB and 256GB configurations.
Just thought to share as we all are so conscious about our environment, iPad mini features 100 percent recycled aluminium in the enclosure — marking a major milestone where every single model in the iPad lineup now has a 100 percent recycled aluminium enclosure.
Overall, it is a wonderful experience using it along with my kids as it is not only helpful for them but for me as well. To be honest, I am learning quite a few new apps like Magicut, Adobe Fresco, Whiteboard from Aayan so the learning never stops.
