Kids friendship!! As much as kids love to make friends, play for hours, making BFF and can’t live without them- one thing is the fights or the friendship expectations!!
Yes in the same way as we adults have ..
Even though kids overcome faster than us adults but do remember it is an important aspect of their growing years- there is a difference between fights and bullying.
As a parent don’t ignore any of these as it is related to kids’ confidence, trust and emotional well being.
Kids and their friendship- here are some do’s and don’t for parents to follow
⭕️Do’s
1. Listen- Always listen to your kid whenever they come up with something which is bothering them
2. Ask them- Try to ask them a question about “what they felt” or “what happened before or after”
3. Empathise- we all need a listening ear whenever we are feeling low
4. Relatable- share your stories and how you dealt with it as it gives confidence to your child
5. Approachable- Do let your kid know that you are always there to listen.
❌Don’t
1. Don’t Fix it yourself- Don’t go and fix the problems with their friends as it won’t help and rather let them solve.
2. Don’t force your child to change friends- tell them about the pros and cons of having good friends and how they care.
3. Don’t Ignore feelings- Ask them if anything, in particular, is hurting them.
