I still remember Aayan when you started your primary schooling in Singapore and everyone around told us these initial years are a breeze and the real grill starts in Primary 6 when you will sit for your PSLE.
For us, it was a new thing to experience and we thought we would see when it would come our way and time for you to sit for it.
You know Papa and I saw you changing over the years from that naughty child to a responsible one where we don’t have to remind you of your studies. We saw the passion, hard work, and dedication you have put into your studies to achieve that one dream you have in mind.
When you said, “Mumma, why stress about the PSLE exam – when we know that exam is an exam always, so what makes it different?”
We are super proud of you for thinking that way and not everyone of your age can have that calmness and determination to put in so much effort and still feel focused all the time. We were amazed to see how you used your free time for astronomy and coding passion.
This year, in particular, has been a difficult time for everyone including kids and we saw you struggling through online school classes and missing the much-needed support this year but never saw you feeling anxious.
Other day you said, “Hard work is the most important thing but results are not in our hands” and I was laughing telling this to your dad that he is speaking my language.
As you sit for your PSLE today and do your best, we just want to tell you be it this exam or any other exam in your life whatever the results will be – we will always be standing with you in your celebrations and your failures!
