Everyone is at home amidst this Covid19 / Coronavirus where schools are closed, it is work from home for offices. We are actually not heading out anywhere on weekends also which means as a parent we need to figure out ways to keep kids busy and happy at the same time.
Listing out 15 activities to do together as a family at home during Covid19.
1. Play Board Games
You can always pick a Board Games whenever you are feeling bored or when you can’t go out. I can’t remember whenever Aayan & Kaira are playing or they are playing with Nikhil they stop at one game. It usually goes for hours.
2. Organize an Indoor picnic
We all love picnics and even more when we can’t step out as it is one of the brilliant ways to enjoy. This is when our tent came handy and we have set this up in one of the corners.
3. Have a family movie night
Some fun time as a family before starting our family movie night with some chips and popcorns.
4. Try on some baking or cooking together
We love baking together and I do involve kids in cooking as well to learn a few basic things at least. It not only boosts their confidence but they learn cooking as an important life skill as well.

5. Make some DIY project or craft with kids
We made this for Kaira’s birthday as she wanted to have a fairy castle on her birthday table.
6. Play Scrabble or Monopoly
You can play scrabble with kids and they can learn new words or Monopoly where kids can learn some business skills also.
7. Make your own little Herb Garden or plant something
This is one of the best activities to do with kids where they can make their own little garden at home while learning about the plant.
8. LEGO LEGO everywhere
This is one of the best toys to play with for hours and hours with your own creativity. Just that clearing them up is a TASK!!
9. Redecorate your room
Nothing like decorating your home or redecorating it. Kids have added a few things in their room and this world map is forever on their wall.
10. Read books together or make a mini library at home
I have avid book readers at home who doesn’t sleep without reading a book which is really a great habit. We got a small library in our home and have made a small book corner at the window for Kaira to choose books to read. Buy or borrow books from the library and keep rotating them.
11. Paint or make Greetings card for your loved one
Remember we used to make greetings card for our friends, family for a birthday, Christmas, New Year so now it is the perfect time to bring back that creativity.
12. Host a cooking show
This is something really interesting and I used to do along with younger sister when either of us will be cooking and other pretending.

We love making scrapbooks with updates of our travel and the things we love. I made one during my pregnancy days too and this is one my kids love.
15. Build a house of cards:
Do you remember this game when we used to turn off the fans or play when the electricity goes off? Now you can challenge each other at home.

Board games are so much fun, especially because they involve the entire family. Cooking with children ca be a lot of fun as well, especially when you are making cakes.

We have been doing a lot of these. Right now my daughter is coloring something for when her teachers drive by in the neighborhood.

So many of my friends are having to become at home entertainment centers….. overall, great reconnecting with families on a personal level.

Oooh, chess is a great idea! My 11 year old loves to play chess with me, but we just usually don’t have time. We have it now!
