SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar®-winning DreamWorks Animation film is coming to Singapore for the very first time as part of its first-ever international tour. This “BIG FAT HIT!” as described by USA Today, will be playing at the MasterCard Theatres, Marina Bay Sands for a limited season only from 8 June 2016. This live adaptation of the popular animation film Shrek brings the hilarious story of everyone’s favourite ogre to the stage. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an ogre – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey that does not keep quiet, a villain with a short temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand and his name is Shrek.

SHREK THE MUSICAL features a book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize® winner David Lindsay- Abaire (Rabbit Hole, Good People), music by Olivier Award-winner Jeanine Tesori (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Caroline, or Change). SHREK THE MUSICAL is choreographed by Chris Bailey and directed by Stephen Sposito who served as Associate Director of the Broadway revival How to Succeed in Business starring Daniel Radcliff. Costumes are the Tony Award® winner designs by Tim Hatley (Private Lives, Spamalot).

I’ve never been a fan of Shrek. He’s too ugly. But some of my friends do. I don’t know why, though.
I’ve watched Shrek movie and found it cute… But haven’t been to Shrek’s Adventure park yet. A musical would be interesting I guess!
Wow, only if they have this kind of event offered here in our country, I surely won’t think twice of bringing my son to witness such event too!
I’ve heard of this before and I think it’s awesome. I have always enjoyed the movies and I’m sure this musical is just as entertaining, if not, more! It’s also the perfect event to take the kids to, it won’t bore them out and it makes for some awesome quality time!
Songs of the Shrek movie are great. We even have a CD of its movies’ sound track. I’m sure lots of kids will love the musical as well.
Shrek has the best storyline. It would be great to watch the musical live.
