I am not sure about others but yes for us “Staycation” was relatively a new term and vacation means flying to another place away from the country you live in. Whenever we plan about going on holidays especially with small kids, there are many things on our mind from passport, visa, packing and much more.
This time, we decided for a short and sweet break without these hassles ……
Our 1st Staycation at Village Hotel Changi to celebrate Aayan’s birthday over the weekend. It was more of Play & Stay package which you can find on their website under the deals.
Until now, we have not yet explored this part of Singapore and it has a different feel- something similar to Kampong kind. As it is totally away from the hustle-bustle of the city life, you will find it very relaxing.Just 10 minutes drive and we were at our destination. A quick view of Hotel lobby.
We stayed in their Junior suite which was good enough for a family with small kids though we have to ask for an extra bed as King size bed is not enough to 4 people to sleep.
The room was well equipped with a Television, walking wardrobe, locker, fridge, Iron and iron board, normally have not seen at least an iron anywhere.
Junior Suite
- Room Aircon was not very effective
- Mini- Fridge was empty
I am always very much interested to see bathroom first and it should be clean. Bathroom size was quite decent with all toiletries, separate rain shower, and a bathtub; there is a see-through glass window next to the bath tub which has got blinds to cover.
All Deluxe rooms, Club rooms, and Suites are fitted with a handy travel companion for you to stay connected. Enjoy unlimited local and international calls to selected countries, unlimited local mobile Internet, an online city guide and exclusive privileges.
Executive Club Lounge at Level 6
Do check at the reception whether you have got Executive Club privileges or you can upgrade to enjoy the executive club privilege which includes light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day and cocktails/snack in the evening (6-8pm). You can actually relax and enjoy your drinks or can surf on the computers inside the lounge.
Since kids under 13 years are not allowed to sit inside the lounge, so everytime we used to grab a tea/coffee or fruit for the kids we sat near the koi pond on the same level. You can feed fishes at Koi pond too.
Koi Pond
You will find that Hotel has got 2 pools on different levels – Infinity Pool at Level 8 and Creek Pool at Level 1
Infinity Pool – Level 8
Infinity Pool has got a raised bar in the corner so while swimming, kids can sit inside as well.
Creek Pool is located at ground level outside the Saltwater cafe and looks beautiful in the night but kids don’t want to use this one. We too find infinity pool has more privacy than this pool as you need to cross the restaurant while going back to your room.

Common Sitting lounge next to the Saltwater Cafe

Breakfast Buffet Menu
There is also a hot food vending machine with a display menu to choose from the screen.
Hotel location is quite convenient and you can even explore the surrounding areas – Changi Beach. Changi Ferry terminal, Changi hawker centre, Playground.
A family photo for our memories before we head back home!

Good break away from city life and still near the city I must say. We need to take such breaks more often.
I bet my boys would love the plane viewing from the pool!
Didn’t know the hotel so good. I went there for seminars but never go explore the hotel. Looks great for family getaway 🙂
Looks cool! Changi Village is such a rustic area, far from the madding crowd of downtown Singapore that it does feel like another country sometimes! Love the food at the nearby hawker centre too.
Nice place for staycation! May consider this place if we have a chance to do staycation!
lovely family there! The hotel looks clean and neat
The place look nice and comfy, will recommend this to my friends as well 🙂
They have minor improvements to make but overall, the hotel doesn’t seem bad. I love how spacious the room is. I also check out the bathroom first because I am a bit of a clean freak and I like a clean bathroom especially if it’s a hotel. The amenities like the swimming is nice as well. It’s worth staying here when you’re in the are.
The place looks impressive with their amenities. It’s also close to the airport for travelers. It looks like you had a great time.
Staycation is definitely a fab thing, when its last minute and you want a break from regular life! The hotel looks fab and food looks yummy!
I’m glad you had a great time at Changi V hotel… I had bad memories there, and I didn’t really want to be reminded of the times there…
Everything looks to much better and cooler there…
I am sure you have had a very great staycation experience here. Thanks for sharing.
I just love a good staycation and it seems like you chose the right place for yours. Everything looked amazing. I think I need one for myself because I’m already feeling burned out and it’s only the month of May. 🙂
Looks like a great and comfy place for a short vacation! Everything there seems well equipped
Appreciate it for this post, I am a big big fan of this website would like to go on updated.
