Your guess is right; Seussical the Musical is in town and you can catch
them live at Esplanade Theatre from 6-8th Nov’2015. Tickets can be purchased
from SISTIC website.
It was the first time we have watched a musical show at Esplanade theatre and it was a good experience to watch them performing for more than an hour. The Concert Hall was huge and got a capacity of more than 1,500 seats and the entire hall was pretty much occupied.
This was the only photo I have captured sitting inside the hall as no photography was allowed so thought of keeping the suspense for others to go and watch the show.
I find the stage was very nicely set up with some lovely effects in the background and it was going hand in hand with the artist’s performance. Though the music was slightly on higher side for my 2 year old girl and she won’t understand it but she enjoyed looking at the characters.
Follow the adventures of Horton the Elephant who discovers a small world floating by on a tiny speck of dust. This small world is floating out of control through the universe and is the home of the Whos, including Jojo – a Who with “Things” that defy all description. Between them they must find a way to save Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers.
Caught between a dust speck and his incubating egg, Horton is truly alone in the universe, but while he faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and ends up on trial, little does he know the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him.
While the kind-hearted Horton tries to protect the speck of dust and the Whos who live on it, look out for Cat in the Hat, the zany narrator who peppers the musical with his endless tricks and witty, thought-provoking commentary.
Kids were quite amused watching the show as it started with a musical sequence involving the audience. All those who have read Dr Seuss series or the Cat in the Hat were in a better position to understand the entire sequel.
Overall it was a good show and a nice experience for kids to see those books coming live to them and they can enjoy those characters performing for them. The Show was for 75 minutes without any interval. Though many toddlers enjoyed the show but other felt a bit uncomfortable as can hear the cries, so probably not a good idea to bring your infants as they might not sit in this loud music.
After the show everyone got a chance to click the photos with their favourite character.
Someone is learning to click a Selfie too 🙂
