During this summer holidays on our trip to India, we planned to visit the Holy shrine of Vaishno Devi ! This time with both our kids so we were really excited as last I came here was in 2010. For Kaira’s it was her first visit to Vaishno devi temple and for Aayan he came here when he was around 2 years old.
This trip was a very short one we have planned as we didn’t got much holidays. We took Shri Shakti express train from Delhi to Katra in the evening around 8 pm and it reached Katra in the early morning. It was relatively a new train very clean from inside and the airconditioning was superb.
When we reached Katra in the early morning around 6 am it was raining there and place looked so beautiful just captured this from my phone at Katra station.
We took an auto from the station to our hotel and just kept our luggage inside and waited until 8 am as we have booked a Helicopter ride. Weather was pretty bad for a helicopter ride so there was a long waiting Queue before it will start the heli ride.
Papa and Kaira together one moment and by the time it was our turn she slept !!
I Clicked this photo of a train going towards Katra station from the helicopter site.
Well ! Waiting for around 3 hours, our helicopter booking got cancelled as weather was not suitable for it. We had our train booking done for evening train, so with kids we have to decide the alternate way to go for darshan. We decided to go on a horse though that is the last option we looked for as we find it too painful and torturous to go this way.
I didn’t carry any camera for this journey as it is difficult to carry and we need to deposit before going for darshan .
We reached Vaishno devi darbar around 3pm and there wasn’t any big queue probably because of the weather. It was a beautiful feel to reach the temple and get the blessings from “Maa Durga”.
A glimpse of “Mata ka darbar”
Some shots I took from my phone and it was so scenic and calm.
You can see the valley of Katra from the Vaishno devi.
Lot of new construction was happening on the way back.
On our way back we decided to walk and can’t believe ourselves that we finished it in straight 3 hours that too with kids. Since we had no time for our dinner too so just got it packed before we rushed to the station to catch our train at 10pm.
Whether it rained, we rushed to heli site, waited, heli ride cancelled, looked for another alternate but finally we got the blessings!
