Pull apart Garlic bread

Pull apart Garlic bread

I first ate it at my friend’s place and was so tempted to try it on my own. This time finally i have decided to make it. No more excuses !!

Here is my first bite of freshly baked pull apart garlic bread …soft and spongy from inside and crispy with beautiful colour on outside.

I saw couple of recipes on the internet but most of them have used store bought baguette rather than the freshly baked bread at home, so searched some more and saw on few sites like carmel moments, foodie mom cooks which have made it from scratch.

Ingredients
Active dry yeast- 2 tsp
Warm water- 1.25 cups
Sugar- 1 tsp
Butter- 1/4 cup(melted)
All purpose flour-3.5 cups
Olive oil- 3 tbsp
Salt- 1 tsp ( since I am using salted butter) if unsalted increase it to 2 tsp
Garlic cloves- 4 (just pressed with knife) You can mince or make a paste
Mixed herbs-2 tsp

Method
In a big bowl take dry yeast, sugar and water. Mix well and let it rest for 5-6 minutes to activate the yeast.

Now add all purpose flour to it, add salt and olive oil. Mix it well using a rubber spatula.

I have gently kneaded it with hands to make a soft dough for around 8-10 minutes. It will be little sticky but you can add bit of oil.

Take a lightly oiled pan to keep the dough in it and cover it with a clean cloth or kitchen towel. Set it aside for 2 hours depending on the weather (if cold then keep for some more time )

Mix butter, garlic and herb together.

Dough should now be double in size. Pull a small portion of dough and dip it in butter mix, now arrange it in a baking pan.

I have set them in 2 layers and then left them to rest for 30-35 mins and they will rise some more.

Bundt pan is best for it but I only had a rectangle bread baking pan for it.

In a preheated oven on 180 degree bake it for 30 minutes.

I was so happy that clicked few more from different angles

Enjoy it !

  1. What I love about pull apart bread is that you don’t have to put a lot of effort into making it pretty and it’s so easy to put together as well! This looks so good! I’m craving for some garlic bread now!
