My little girl’s birthday was coming and I wanted to make a small pinata for her to enjoy.
Though I can get it in the market but felt like doing something at home- you know mumma’s love I want to add here !!
Luckily sometime back while browsing for some creative ideas, I came across this beautiful pinata. So this was a perfect and just-in-time craft for my little girl’s 1st birthday.
It was fun cutting, pasting, and filling the pinata with candies with the help of my son.
He too felt proud of the wonderful job he did to make his sister happy on her birthday. Sweet little memories we are building for both of them to enjoy when they grow up. We actually made this as a family craft by involving everyone- so we allotted work of cutting the shape to Dad, our time management worked here as we had to finish it within 3 hours before it strikes 12 on the clock.
We started with a big cereal box, you can take any cereal box or if you want to make a bigger one then buy a larger box.
Cut it into the required shape as shown in the picture below in a set of two(we took number [1]).
Now take both No 1 cardboard, keep some gap in between and seal it with good tape (Sorry couldn’t click the photo for it) but you have to join both numbers [1] to make a box to fill in the candies.
It will look like the picture below when joined together.
For decorating we took crepe paper and cut them into fringe, you can take as many colours as you want. My son loves to have all sorts of colours, so we put them in different layers.
Here is the pinata layer after layer resting on the table to dry .
We enjoyed preparing this pinata at home, for us with kids it was a messy task and not so perfect but you can go ahead and make a perfect one Minus kids fun and love…
